At the Arts Students League’s short poses class, I sit at the edge of the room. This is where I can see both models at the same time. Drawing them together creates an unconscious dialog. The juxtaposing of the models in different poses brings its own expression.
In my art studio, I play with more layering of the poses. Each medium invites its own expression. Starting first with water based paints: watercolor, gouache and casein, I attempt to expand the ideas in color on larger paper. With my more successful attempts, I will go to painting with oil.
