Night Fall Series on Canvas

Three themes have been inspiring a new series of artwork.

1. The first theme is Longyear Gallery’s spring series about night.
2. The second theme is my ongoing fascination about merry go round.   I am fascinated especially of the carved horses at the Central Park Merry Go Round.  These horses are running with terror on their faces.
3. From a series of photographs of graduates of Chinese students, the pictures show the angst and despair about their future.  The students have placed their bodies on stairs as if they had fallen.

I start first with drawing of playing with the layering of images.  Then I expand to larger canvas in oil.
